How to Book Tatkal Ticket — Step by Step Guide

Tatkal is Indian Railways' emergency quota that opens 24 hours before departure. It provides last-minute berths for passengers who cannot book in advance. Tatkal comes at a premium (surcharge on top of normal fare) but gives confirmed or near-confirmed tickets when normal quota is exhausted. Booking Tatkal successfully requires speed since slots are limited and high demand fills them within minutes of opening.
